Full Job Description
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home and leading by example in delivering high-quality, therapeutic and child-focused care. Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, you will guide and mentor Support Workers, promote best practice, and ensure that young people are cared for in a safe, nurturing and structured environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants to progress in their career and develop into future leadership roles.,
- Provide high-quality, consistent care in line with individual care plans, risk assessments and regulatory standards.
- Lead shifts effectively, ensuring routines, structure and safeguarding responsibilities are maintained.
- Support the management team with daily operations, casework, documentation and multi-agency communication.
- Act as a positive role model, mentoring Support Workers and contributing to their development.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, supporting them to develop resilience, independence and positive life skills.
- Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies, therapeutic approaches and de-escalation techniques.
- Promote education, health, emotional well-being and positive activities for young people.
- Complete accurate reports, logs and recordings to regulatory standards.
- Uphold a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring the safety and welfare of young people at all times.
- Support with promoting a positive health & safety environment throughout the home.

- Accountability and professional practice, QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a children's residential home.
- Experience leading shifts or supervising junior staff (formally or informally).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
- Full driving licence.
