An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and reliable Occupational Therapy Senior Support Worker to work in our well-respected Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) working in A&E and other urgent care assessment areas including our new Frailty SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care). The team works closely with acute and community services, providing comprehensive assessment of patients to avoid admission. The team are supported by social care practitioners, specialist nurses and consultants., To work as part of the Occupational Therapy team in delivering a high quality and effective Therapy service to patients.

To ensure patient flow and effective discharge, we provide a 7 day service and the successful candidate will be included in the weekend rota.Additional skills will see the post holder interacting with the public daily, interactions with relatives and other professionals.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment appropriate to a Band 4 level and undertake treatment plans as agreed with the Occupational Therapist.

Practical skills are required to monitor and maintain assessment equipment used by the Therapy Team. A high level of inter-professional working exists in the department benefiting the patients and all members of the MDT.

A flexible and adaptable approach is required to meet the needs of the service. NHS experience would be an advantage but is not essentialThis post requires some weekend/bank holiday working.
