Senior Support worker - Location: StaffordSalary - £29,525.97 (FTE) Per annum (Pro rata) depending on experienceHours - 37.5 full timeWe're looking for a Senior Support Worker to collaborate with our Registered Manager and team in our new children's residential home, Applewood Lodge. Our children's home will be focused on building a nurturing family environment. You will play a key role in supporting children with mental health challenges and trauma, possessing a comprehensive understanding of exploitation risks. A strong commitment to child safeguarding and maintaining high-quality standards, working in partnership with Ofsted, is essential. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week) involving shift work (on a 2-week rota), alternate weekends, and on-call duties, requiring flexibility to ensure the home operates smoothly and safely. - Direct Child Support: Provide compassionate support to children and young people in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being within their routines.
- Shift Leadership: Effectively lead shifts by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are always maintained, fostering a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Care Plan Implementation: Support the implementation and adherence to care plans, risk assessments, person-centred plans, and behaviour support plans, reviewing and updating them as required with the Service Manager.
- Personal Care & Daily Living: Assist with all aspects of personal care and daily living.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with children, young people, and the Support workers to meet service needs, embodying the full scope of a Senior Support Worker role.
- On-Call & Training: Participate in the on-call rota and be responsible for attending and completing all mandatory training.
- Medication Administration: Administer medication as required, following all protocols.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred. Key Competencies: Strong organisation, time management, care planning, and communication abilities. Work Ethic: A flexible, professional, and positive approach to your work. Required Qualification: Level 3 NVQ or Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare preferred, or happy to work towards. Dependability: Proven track record of excellent attendance and timekeeping. Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Problem-Solving: Self-confidence to manage challenging situations with composure. Driving License: Preferred. Fair Management: The capacity to address employee issues fairly and consistently.
