Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a Speech and Language Therapist with Neuro experience, looking for a new opportunity where you will be supported to develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be? If so, this could be the role for you. Where you will be working 4 days per week at The Dean Neurological Centre which has 60 beds, based in Gloucester (GL2 9EE). The site is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages. 1 day per week at Stanley House which has 41 beds based in Bosbury, Herefordshire, HR8 1HB. Both sites deliver specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. They specialise in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life. Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted
suction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapte, As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will lead group therapeutic sessions, helping individuals develop and improve their speech and communication. Your role involves managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience to complete assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes aligned to individual care plans. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and have access to various training courses to support your career development. Demonstrating specialist skills in managing complex cases involving cultural and linguistic differences while generating appropriate strategies for caseload management will be crucial. Additionally, you will undertake audits and contribute to research in treatment provision. Your primary focus will be on individuals with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, leveraging your expertise to maximize functional ability and facilitate
recovery.
