The ideal candidate will combine strong technical leadership with hands-on engineering excellence and a proven ability to deliver scalable, resilient, and contributing across the full
software development lifecycle.Domain ExperienceBanking, payments, fintech, or financial services experience.Exposure to mission-critical, high-scale production systems, and payment network integrations.Experience building customer-facing platforms and transaction processing solutions.Understanding of security, compliance, resiliency, and operational risk requirements.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and support scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native microservices.Build distributed and event-driven systems using messaging and asynchronous processing patterns.Drive engineering excellence through architecture, coding standards, testing, and automation.Support production systems, incident management, troubleshooting, and operational resilience.Balance long-term architecture goals with short-term delivery priorities.Collaborate across engineering teams, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders.Mentor engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and shape technical
direction.Promote responsible adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.Ensure engineering output meets stakeholder expectations, security, resiliency and compliance standards.Technical SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin.Expertise in REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.Experience with AWS/multi-cloud cloud-native environments.Hands-on experience with messaging frameworks and event-driven architectures.Strong understanding of relational databases and data architecture patterns.Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, automation, and modern software delivery practices.Strong testing capabilities across Unit, Component, Integration, End-to-End, and Performance Testing.Familiarity with JVM ecosystem technologies, open-source frameworks, and production support.Non-Technical SkillsStrong leadership, ownership, and problem-solving mindset.Ability to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and
