Full Job Description

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance our Internal Developer Platform
  • Lead the delivery of features, from prototype to production, ensuring they are well tested, secure, and meet our engineering standards.
  • Provide leadership, education and mentoring to support engineers and drive upskilling.
  • Lead system design work, collaborating with colleagues from across the business, including Senior Management and other Subject Matter Experts.
  • Shape the product roadmap to ensure we are delivering the right features for our customers.

    We're looking for an experienced and passionate Software Engineer (backend) to work on our flagship Internal Developer Platform.
    • The ideal candidate will have a solid track record with demonstrable experience as a software engineer working as part of a team to build performant and maintainable backend solutions. The candidate will also have a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.,
  • Extensive experience of at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python.
  • Significant experience building solutions following Infrastructure as Code best practices employing Hashicorp Terraform
  • Extensive experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience using relational or NoSQL databases
  • Quality is part of everything that you do, including robust test and release automation.
  • Proactively removes bottlenecks, toil and repetitive work affecting developer velocity
    • It would be great if you also had
  • Hands-on experience building solutions for the public cloud (Azure)
  • Passionate about building the best possible developer experience for our engineers
  • Experience working with and building CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of building secure solutions
  • Knowledge of Backstage.io and supporting ecosystem
  • Knowledge of the industry concepts of Internal Developer Platform and Golden Paths or Paved Roads
