Full Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our growing Digital team and help bring software development in-house at Scouts, As our Senior Software Developer, you will:

  • Build and improve Scouts' digital systems, including our Membership System and website.
  • Develop new digital tools and services for our members and volunteers.
  • Take ownership of software from design and development through to ongoing maintenance.
  • Work closely with staff and volunteers to understand needs and deliver practical solutions.
  • Help keep our systems secure, reliable and easy to maintain.

    What you'll bring as our Senior Software Developer:
  • Strong experience in software development, including front-end and back-end web development.
  • Experience working with databases, APIs and cloud-based systems.
  • Experience delivering and maintaining digital products or services.
  • A strong focus on building secure, reliable and good-quality software.
  • A practical, collaborative and problem-solving approach, with the ability to adapt and learn.
  • An interest in using new technology, including AI, to improve how we work.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is welcome.
