The Role and Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive Social Work Assessments under Section 17 and Section 47.
  • Leading and managing Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) planning.
  • Driving positive outcomes for children and families across the Ipswich and Felixstowe areas.
  • Navigating complex family dynamics with senior-level analytical and report-writing skills.

Work-Life Balance and Team Structure

  • Flexible Working: Condensed hours over 4 days are accepted.
  • Hybrid Model: 3 days per week office-based at Beacon House, providing a mix of collaboration and autonomy.
  • Caseloads: Manageable average of 25-30 children.
  • Geography: Primarily covering the South Ipswich locality and surrounding coastal towns.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with valid professional registration.
  • Proven experience in statutory children's services (CIN/CP/Assessments).
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced fieldwork environment.
  • Mandatory: A completed DfE cover sheet must be attached to your application.
