Full Job Description

As a Senior Social Work Lead Practitioner, you will take the lead in supporting children and families through Child in Need and Family Help interventions. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver effective, child-centred plans, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time. You will play a key role in managing complex cases, leading multi-agency meetings, completing high-quality assessments, and promoting best practice across the service. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex Child in Need and Family Help cases.
  • Undertake comprehensive, needs-led assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans.
  • Coordinate and chair Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with children, young people and families using trauma-informed, relationship-based practice.
  • Work closely with education, health, police and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for statutory meetings, conferences and court where required.
  • Contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Strategy Meetings, Care Planning Meetings and MARACs.
  • Ensure children's views, wishes and feelings are central to assessment and planning.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case recording.
  • Support continuous improvement and promote excellent social work practice.

    Qualified Social Worker.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working with children subject to Child in Need plans is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and work effectively within a fast-paced environment., Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Proof of qualifications.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Enhanced DBS documentation.
  • Confidentiality Agreement.
