Senior Sister with Specialist Interest Neonatal Education

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Neonatal Nurse with a passion for education to join Newborn Services at Saint Mary's Managed Clinical Service.

We are seeking an inspiring Qualified in Speciality (QIS) nurse with significant Band 6 or above experience within NICU. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and delivery of high-quality education and workforce development across the service, directly influencing patient care, safety, and staff experience.

In this role, you will lead and develop the education team, driving a culture of continuous learning and excellence. You will support staff to achieve and sustain clinical competence through innovative, practice-based education and act as a visible, compassionate clinical leader and role model.

You will contribute to service improvement by delivering measurable improvements in education outcomes and supporting a confident, capable workforce.

The successful candidate will be an experienced neonatal clinician with strong leadership and communication skills, committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic education priorities and make a meaningful impact on workforce development and the care provided to babies and their families., As Education Team Lead, you will work collaboratively across governance, quality improvement, procurement, and patient experience teams to ensure education programmes are responsive, impactful, and embedded across the workforce. You will play a key role in translating learning from incidents, complaints, and family feedback into meaningful educational initiatives that drive safer, high-quality care.

You will be passionate about delivering evidence-based neonatal care and committed to improving outcomes and experiences for babies and their families. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence practice by strengthening education, safety, and workforce capability within a dedicated and evolving service.

As a valued member of the Newborn Services leadership team, you will provide visible, supportive leadership to registered and non-registered staff, ensuring professional standards are maintained through effective supervision, performance review, and ongoing development. You will contribute to governance and assurance through high-quality reporting and represent the service at divisional and network-level forums.

You will also work in partnership with Manchester and Salford Universities to support the development of the future workforce and strengthen academic-clinical collaboration.
