About the RoleWe're looking for a Senior Service Designer to join our team and work on complex government digital transformation programmes. You'll take an end-to-end view of services, understanding how users, people, processes, technology, data and policy come together. You'll use research and evidence to identify problems and opportunities, then help
multidisciplinary teams design better, more accessible and user-centred services. This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys working on complex operational or internal government services, including case management, workflow and services involving multiple systems and teams. What You'll Be DoingDesigning and mapping end-to-end servicesCreating user journeys, service blueprints and process mapsWorking across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and LiveFacilitating workshops with users, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teamsWorking closely with User Researchers to turn research into actionable recommendationsIdentifying pain points, dependencies and opportunities for improvementManaging and influencing senior and non-technical stakeholdersSupporting Agile multidisciplinary teamsDeveloping prototypes and iterating designs based on evidence and feedbackApplying UCD, GDS Service Standards and Government Design PrinciplesChampioning accessibility and inclusive design, including WCAGMaking
complex processes, systems and services easy to understand and communicate What We're Looking ForEssential:Strong Service Design experience within complex digital transformation programmesExperience working within UK Government / Central GovernmentStrong understanding of GDS Service Standard and Government Design PrinciplesExperience across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and LiveStrong User-Centred Design (UCD) experienceExcellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skillsExperience with service mapping, journey mapping, service blueprints and process mappingExperience working in Agile multidisciplinary teamsPrototyping experience using tools such as Figma, Miro or similarGood understanding of accessibility, inclusive design and WCAGAbility to communicate complex processes and systems clearlyActive SC Clearance - essential We'd Especially Like to SeeInternal or operational government servicesComplex case management or workflow systemsMapping front-to-back services across people,
