You will get the opportunity to set the standards and evaluate achievements by working in partnership with the rest of the internal team, young people, their families and other professionals. You will also play a significant part in the transition of our young people from Aycliffe Secure Centre and provide support and encouragement to enable them to successfully return to their families or go on to live independent lives within the community. - experience of working with young people and can successfully engage with them
- experience of working with challenging behaviour and sensitive issues in a trauma informed way
- strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others
- supervision of staff and assessing training/development needs of the team
- working with young people's wider care teams, their families and carers. Our Senior Residential Workers are required to hold a Level 3 Diploma in Child Care (or equivalent). If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Our young people are cared for 24/7 so working shift patterns that include weekends and bank holidays are an essential part of the role. You will work an average 37 hours per week in a designated shift pattern between 7.00am - 11pm. There is also a requirement to work bank holidays and weekends as well as sleep-in duties. NOT JUST TRAINING Your role will start with our comprehensive induction programme which includes a range of formal and informal learning opportunities so you can carry out your role safely and effectively. But it doesn't stop there as the first six months in the role you will also receive specific on the job training and development to enable you to deliver the role with confidence.
