Full Job Description

You'll be based at Raynesway in Derby, with travel to project sites, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You'll be an experienced quantity surveyor or commercial professional with senior-level experience in utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering or another regulated capital-delivery environment. You'll have experience managing multiple projects through their commercial lifecycle, including procurement, tendering, cost control, forecasting, change, claims and final accounts. You'll bring working knowledge of NEC contracts, strong analytical and Excel skills and confidence influencing stakeholders and supply-chain partners. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is required, while professional membership of, or progress towards, RICS, CICES or another relevant body is desirable. Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality, as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We're looking for people who want to get involved, be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.

At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide for employee engagement, and we're equally proud of our strong Glassdoor score, reflecting how much our people love working here.

It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and awardwinning training to help you reach your potential. You'll also contribute to the environment and community. Some of our benefits include:

  • 28 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Annual bonus of up to £2,250, dependent on company performance
  • Leading pension scheme, with a 15% company contribution when you contribute 7.5%
  • Family-friendly policies, including a year's paid maternity or adoption leave
  • Sharesave scheme
  • Dedicated training and development through our Academy
  • Electric vehicle scheme, retail offers and two paid volunteering days per year
