Full Job Description
A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major £500m+ infrastructure project in Northumberland.
This flagship development combines significant heavy civil engineering, major infrastructure, structural works and new-build construction, making it one of the region's most high-profile projects. With a long delivery programme and a strong pipeline of future work, this is an excellent opportunity to join a financially secure contractor offering genuine long-term career progression.
Candidates with experience across new build, refurbishment, fit-out or infrastructure are encouraged to apply, as the project requires a broad range of commercial expertise across multiple work packages., Commercial management of allocated work packages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
- Preparation of cost reports, forecasts and CVRs.
- Valuations, variations and change management.
- Contract administration and commercial governance.
- Working closely with the project delivery team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Managing client and subcontractor relationships.
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of a complex, multidisciplinary construction project.
Previous experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience working for a main contractor.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
- Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account.
- Experience on new-build, fit-out, refurbishment, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- NEC contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Ability to work within a collaborative project team on a large-scale, technically challenging development.
