Company & Project Profile

Apple Technical Recruitment are working exclusively with a privately owned medium sized Main Contractor with c20 years+ of history in East Anglia. The business is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Suffolk region. Working from a New Build office on the outskirts of Ipswich with excellent travel links. With a robust pipeline of work across Suffolk, specifically within the Education, Healthcare, Commercial and Mixed-Use sectors. The successful candidate will initially take the commercial lead on a new Education project in the local area, valued at c£8m. The business is known for its supportive culture, high staff retention rates and their successful track record in the local area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full responsibility for daily commercial management functions, including:


• Sub-contract enquiries, procurement, and order placement.


• Accurate measurement and valuations of work on-site.


• Timely applications for payment and reconciling accounts.


• Managing variations and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.


• Settling final accounts and ensuring practical completion is met commercially.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a QS within a Main Contractor.


• Contracts: Essential experience using JCT contracts.


• Education: BSc in Quantity Surveying or a comparable qualification.


• Skills: Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.


• Background: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
