Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to work with Natural Resources on the St Fergus Gas Terminal based out of either Wigan with travel to Scotland or based out of St Fergus. Day in the Life of a Murphy Senior Project Manager

• Fully accountable for the delivery of projects, ensuring safety, timeliness, contractual compliance, and budget adherence.


• Sets the overall project and contract standards.


• Ensures project requirements are identified and delivered.


• Identifies issues and ensures they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner.


• Plans, reviews, and delivers contract programs.


• Line manages Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, and Section Managers.


• Manages client relationships and provides updates to stakeholders on project progress.


• Ensures operating plans allocate sufficient resources and materials.


• Resolves operational issues, with critical issues referred to the Project Director.


• Handles all commercial activities related to the project, including gross margin delivery, cost control, and financial metrics.


• Manages subcontractor performance regarding gross margin and cost control.

Candidate Profile

• Experience delivering highly serviced (mechanical/electrical heavy) Design & Construct Projects.


• Desired experience in the oil and gas industry (Gas Terminals/Compressors).


• Familiarity with NEC3 & 4 forms of contracts.


• Experience in a Project Managerial role within complex, multi-discipline enhancement projects.


• Ability to deliver within programme and cost controls.


• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with ability to develop close relationships with clients and subcontractors.


• Health and Safety qualification is desirable but not essential.


• HNC / HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree) or equivalent experience.
