Full Job Description
Are you a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist passionate about enabling independence? Trafford Local Care Organisation is looking for a motivated and dynamic Band 7 Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Community Equipment and Adaptations Service.
You will manage a complex caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning to provide highly specialist assessments and interventions for service users with diverse and complex needs. Your work will focus on the provision of specialist equipment and major adaptations to help people live safely and independently in their own homes and local community.

Supervision, appraisal and professional development opportunities are provided and CPD is actively supported and encouraged.
Supervision of junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and Occupational Therapy students is integral to the role.
The post is part time 0.6WTE between Monday - Friday and requires ability to travel across Trafford Borough to undertake home visits. Confirmed working pattern will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate, Conduct comprehensive functional and risk assessments for service users with complex needs.
Prescribe and evaluate specialist equipment and environmental adaptations to maximise function and independence.
Act as an expert resource for the team, providing clinical guidance and supervision to junior OTs and support staff.
Take a lead role in complex cases, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners, including Trafford Council.
Manage a defined caseload, prioritising work effectively to meet service priorities and deadlines.
Contribute to service development and audits to ensure a responsive and evidence-based service.
Deliver training and education to colleagues, service users, and carers on equipment use and safe moving and handling techniques
