Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Practitioner to join our Nuclear Medicine team at Tameside General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Clinical Technologist to work within a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, providing expert clinical knowledge and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and timely diagnostic imaging in line with national standards and patient need. The role requires excellent communication, organisational and clinical skills, with the ability to work autonomously whilst supporting junior staff, students and service development. Applicants should hold a PGD in Nuclear Medicine (or be working towards/willing to work towards) or a Nuclear Medicine degree, with HCPC or VRCT registration as appropriate. Experience across a broad range of
Nuclear Medicine procedures and a commitment to continued professional development are essential. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop specialist skills within a progressive department committed to service improvement, education and high clinical standards., o Undertake a wide range of Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures to a high clinical standard. o Administer radiopharmaceuticals and associated medications in line with departmental protocols and PGDs. o Work autonomously within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to safe and effective patient care pathways. o Assess and justify imaging requests in accordance with IR(ME)R regulations and local protocols. o Provide expert clinical advice and support to colleagues, referrers and the wider multidisciplinary team. o Support and supervise junior staff, students and trainees within the department. o Participate in quality assurance, audit, research and service improvement activities. o Assist in maintaining safe radiation practice and compliance with Trust and departmental policies. o Contribute to the day-to-day operational delivery and ongoing development of the Nuclear Medicine service.
