Senior Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner

Join our dynamic and compassionate Community Perinatal Mental Health Team in Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting women and birthing people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties during pregnancy and in their postnatal period.

This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Service. The Team's base is at Resource house in Wokingham where you are surrounded by local cafés and shops. The role combines both remote, community and office working with hot desking bases across Berkshire., In this rewarding role, you will act as a Care Coordinator, delivering high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based interventions to birthing people and their families at a crucial stage of life.
You'll undertake comprehensive specialist assessments, develop collaborative care plans, and provide or transfer into therapeutic interventions that promote recovery, resilience, and positive parent-infant relationships.
You will be working autonomously and collaboratively within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team-including other MH practitioners' psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health wellbeing practitioner's nursery nurses and support workers and closely linked to specialist midwives, health visitors, other community MH teams and social care partners.
You'll contribute your expertise to risk management, safeguarding, and case formulation. You'll also liaise closely with maternity services, health visiting, adult MH services, primary care, and community agencies to ensure seamless, holistic care and recovery in the community.

1. You must be a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Social Worker (or equivalent qualification whereby the person is licensed to assess, plan and evaluate care for patients with mental health problems) to apply for this role.
2. Experience of working effectively with a range of professional staff and external agencies.
3. Knowledge and experience of working in a care environment and with service users who have complex mental health needs.
4. Experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team and multi-agency environment.
5. A passion for supporting patients and their family's recovery in the community with strong support plans that support long term stability.
6. The ability to independently manage and organise personal workload and identify in-efficiencies that support overall improvements of personal workload and of the team., + Compassionate - Motivated to positively impact the wellbeing of self and others.
