Here, curiosity is encouraged, collaboration is second nature, and your ideas have room to grow. Overview

We're on the lookout for a talented Senior Consulting Actuary to join our UK Financial Consulting team, in a highly visible and influential role. This appointment is suited to an individual who is ready to take ownership of client relationships, lead complex projects, and play a key role in growing our corporate actuarial offering.

You'll be at the heart of delivering expert corporate actuarial advice to sponsors of defined benefit pension schemes, helping clients tackle complex challenges with confidence. There are also opportunities to take on scheme actuary appointments so would be perfectly suited to someone with a scheme actuary certificate looking for a balance of trustee and corporate work (although this is not essential). This is your chance to make a real difference – enhancing our actuarial consulting practice, driving its growth, and shaping its future success.

We're flexible on location and welcome applications from candidates near our offices in Manchester, London, Ipswich, or Edinburgh.

How you'll make an impact

  • Take ownership of key client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to sponsors and trustees

  • Lead the delivery of complex expert actuarial projects from strategy through to execution

  • Provide expert advice on funding, risk management and pension strategy

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, leveraging Gallagher's broking relationships and wider network

  • Support and lead client pitches, contributing to the growth of the practice

  • Play a central role in shaping and expanding the corporate team, including mentoring and developing more junior colleagues over time

  • Share your expertise by speaking at industry seminars and representing Gallagher in client meetings

  • Ensure high standards by conducting thorough peer reviews and maintaining compliance

About You

  • You're a qualified actuary (FIA/FFA) with a wealth of experience in actuarial consultancy

  • Strong track record of managing senior client relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments

  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating autonomously and taking full ownership of client outcomes

  • Commercially aware, with an ability to identify and convert business development opportunities

  • Able to operate independently, managing priorities and delivering high-quality outputs with minimal senior support

  • Collaborative in approach, but confident leading independently when required
