Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Planner to lead our Operations Planners and Junior Operations Planners in delivering an achievable, accurate and robust production plan to support the car programme. Reporting into the wider manufacturing and programme functions, you will take ownership of the creation, management and delivery of work orders across the factory. You will ensure the workload portfolio is balanced, priorities are clearly communicated, and that production has the right information, materials and timing to execute successfully. This is a key role at the heart of a fast-paced Formula One manufacturing environment.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Operations Planners and Junior Operations Planners, supporting high performance through regular 1-2-1s, mentoring and day-to-day guidance
- Generate, manage and review accurate work orders using pre-templated routings, ensuring they align with an achievable plan
- Own and monitor module work orders through production, ensuring timely progress and resolution of NCRs
- Manage annual leave, time sheets and team coverage to maintain operational resilience
- Collaborate with Programme Managers to raise work orders that meet part quantity requirements for target events
- Attend faults and triage meetings as required, supporting feedback and corrective actions
- Work closely with Scheduling to ensure department work lists reflect true priorities and delivery dates
- Ensure all sub-components required to execute top-level BOM work orders are available for manufacture
- Communicate delivery risks clearly and early, providing feedback on achievability to key stakeholders
- Partner with Procurement to expedite critical parts in line with the agreed plan
- Support emergent, service, Class 5, fault and repair work, coordinating and communicating impact
You will be an organised, confident individual with strong planning capability and the ability to manage complex, parallel workloads in a high-pressure environment. What You'll Need to Demonstrate - Strong alignment with Williams values and behaviours
- A commitment to high standards of safety, quality and conduct
- Confidence operating within cost cap requirements and identifying opportunities for optimisation
- Ownership, accountability and clear decision-making under pressure
