Summary


Whipps Cross Hospital is a busy District General Hospital in East London and the Frailty Centre of Excellence. We are looking for an experienced band 6 OT or an established band 7 OT who has the skills and expertise to lead in Orthopaedics.


Recent development and delivery of the ERAS protocol post #NOF has been implemented on the orthopaedic wards, promoting the continued provision of high quality therapy service, ensuring evidence based practice with a reduced LOS.


The team is made up of an integrated team of OTs and PTs working in a friendly, dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will have their own caseload, lead a team of band 6 and band 5 OTs with shared responsibility with the research B7 PT for the therapy support staff.


Applicants will need to hold a current HCPC registration, have broad clinical skills including recent acute orthopaedic experience and have worked in the NHS or acute health service at band 6 or 7 level.


The service operates a rostered weekend service to ensure a 7 day provision. The shift patterns are 8am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm with rostered weekend working with time off in lieu during the week.


To play a major and specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment, clinical management and discharge planning of patients admitted to the orthopaedic wards determining clinical diagnosis, functional deficits, treatment programs and discharge planning.
