Full Job Description

The new Integrated Domestic Abuse Response Team (IDART). IDART jointly manages a risk response to Domestic Abuse within Wakefield in a timely manner completing live time actions and safety planning which will be shared between all partners.

Overall, the aim is to reduce risk, reduce repeats and offer early intervention and prevention.

Effective safeguarding within IDART relies on strong, transparent, and timely collaboration between all partner agencies. You will carry out clinical risk assessments, with a particular focus on identifying vulnerability and the likelihood of repeat incidents. Working closely with NHS and community mental health services, you will help ensure individuals in crisis are signposted to appropriate support and interventions, with the aim of reducing future risk.

The role will also involve contributing to the development of preventative approaches, sharing insights on emerging trends and risks, and supporting the production of regular reports to inform operational and safeguarding responses across the route.

Main duties of the job

Provide daily safeguarding support within the Integrated Domestic Abuse Response Team (IDART), reviewing overnight domestic abuse reports and responding to live safety actions with police and partner agencies. This includes deploying to live domestic abuse incidents to deliver early intervention, address immediate needs, and reduce risk for victims and suspects.

Share information rapidly with partners to enable a coordinated safeguarding response, while contributing your expertise to upskill the wider team. The role also includes attending key multiagency meetings (DRAM, MARAC, Clares Law Panel, and monthly perpetrator meetings), coordinating and participating in joint visits, and supporting Domestic Abuse Offender Managers with service delivery.

Joint work with IDART and Police, contributing to triage meetings to identify and mitigate risk posed by primary needs. Participate in joint visits where required, both to custody and in the community in live time with partner agencies.

Participate and potentially chair in MARAC and DRAM and something about sitting within the IDART team and actioning urgent safeguarding requests.
