Senior Network Management and Events Officer

Leading the Network Management and Events Team, you will manage a small, proactive team to utilise relevant IT systems to monitor, respond to and mitigate both planned events and real-time road network incidents to manage congestion and communicate such issues to the public and other stakeholders. You will also be required to work with external stakeholders and event organisers to advise on the safe and efficient delivery of events that may impact on the operation of the Highway network and represent Surrey County Council at multi agency Safety Advisory Groups (SAGs). This job is suited to a person with experience of Highway Network Management, including the use of Intelligent Transport systems (ITS), to manage and mitigate the impact of events on the highway. Experience of reviewing Event and Traffic management plans as well as the associated legislation is also a requirement of this role.

• Experience of Highway Network Management and the use of ITS
• Experience of reviewing event traffic management plans and working with event organisers.
• Knowledge of current legislation and standards relating to Network Management
• Knowledge of current legislation and standards relating to the management of events on the Highway
• Experience of developing and managing a successful team
• Able to deal calmly with incidents, liaising with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes
• Experience of handling stakeholders, understanding their needs and keeping them informed

This role has a starting salary of 42,958 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. We are looking for a Senior Network Management and Events Officer to join our Traffic & Streetworks team, based at the County Council's Network Management Information Centre (NMIC) in Leatherhead. We operate an agile working policy which currently requires working with your team in the office twice a week. Our Offer to You
