Senior Mental Health Team Practitioner

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Team Practitioner to support the MHST Clinical/Professional Team Lead and other colleagues in providing a low-intensity psychological therapies service for children, young people, and their families in schools and colleges.

• To support the MHST Clinical/Professional Team Lead in providing professional and clinical leadership within their area of responsibility.
• To deliver face-to-face interventions with young people and their families in a range of community settings, including patient homes, schools, health centres, and community centres.
• The successful candidate will use a combination of face-to-face, virtual, and telephone-based working
• To work in partnership with education settings to complement existing provision and support Mental Health Leads in further developing and delivering their whole-school approach.
• To offer consultation, advice, support, and signposting.
• To deliver evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues to children, young people, and families
• To oversee the formulation and intervention plans for schools, parents, children, and young people being supported by Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and registered practitioners, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service through both individual and group work., Work in partnership with schools/colleges, to support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
• Provide a range of information and support to schools for evidence based psychological, social emotional and systemic interventions, including guided self-help and signposting to other services where appropriate.
• To provide professional/clinical supervision to Registered Practitioners and Assistant Practitioners along with other professional/clinical supervisors in the team.
• To support the EMHPs, Registered Practitioners and Assistant Practitioners to liaise with other education, health, social care and voluntary community sector staff from a range of agencies, in the care provided to children, young people, their families and professionals.
• Support EMHPs in the co-delivery of training sessions, group and individual interventions in schools.
• Assess and deliver, outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
• To be part of a duty rota to review referrals, waiting lists and supporting all members of staff who are in practice and require additional advice.
• To lead their locality in managing waiting lists, assessments and interventions.
