Full Job Description

A Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner in CAMHS delivers high-quality care to children and young people while providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. You will assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based interventions, using sound clinical judgement to manage risk and support complex needs.

You will hold a varied caseload, contribute to triage and decision-making, and ensure timely access to appropriate services. The role includes oversight of a small team, with some operational management responsibilities such as coordinating workloads and supporting service delivery. A key part of the role is providing clinical supervision and guidance to junior staff, maintaining high standards of care.

Working collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies, you will promote a whole-system approach to wellbeing and contribute to service development and quality improvement.

All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to have their up-to-date flu vaccination to protect staff and patients., Provide comprehensive assessment, formulation, and delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs, using sound clinical judgement to manage risk. Hold and manage a varied caseload, contributing to triage, referrals, and care planning to ensure timely access to appropriate services.

Provide clinical leadership through supervision, consultation, and guidance to junior staff, supporting their development and maintaining high standards of practice. Oversee a small team, with operational responsibilities including coordinating workloads, supporting day-to-day service delivery, and contributing to performance and quality monitoring.

Work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to promote a whole-system approach to wellbeing. Contribute to service development, audit, and continuous quality improvement aligned with CAMHS priorities.
