Full Job Description

The role of this post is to support the North Manchester Hospital Acute Medical Team. The clinical level is expected to be at IMT3 or equivalent, although this role is not recognised as an official training post by the JRCPTB or Royal College of Physicians., Provide supervision, assistance and instruction to the junior medical staff e.g. Foundation trainees.

Maintain the highest clinical standards at all times and in accordance with accepted good medical practice and the various clinical policies of the Service.

Transmit relevant clinical information to other medical, technical and nursing staff both within and external to the department, regarding patients referred to other places for further treatment of follow-up.

Supervise nursing staff in matters relating to the treatment of patients.

Teaching and supervision of medical students, nurses and junior hospital at home team members.

Occasional duties may arise at the acute trust, e.g. major incidents, ensuring adequate ward staffing.

The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultants.

The post holder is expected to provide cover for the occasional absences of colleagues as far as practicable.

The Acute Medicine department is looking to appoint enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic candidate to join our team in Acute Medicine at North Manchester Hospital. We are supported by a large multidisciplinary.The candidate must have a desire to work in the field of general and acute internal medicine, The candidate should have a good experience, competencies and background of this area and be prepared to work independently with the support of consultants.
