Senior Legal Counsel

Experteer Overview In this role you will support OpenText's Partner & Emerging Markets initiatives from the Legal Business Services Team, advising on commercial arrangements across geographies. You will partner with cross-functional teams to close deals, manage risk, and drive time-to-contract improvements. The position offers exposure to global markets, including Middle East and Africa, and a chance to shape enterprise-scale legal processes within a fast-evolving AI-driven information management company. • Collaborate with Sales, Partner, Engineering and other teams to close deals and meet commercial objectives Draft, review, and negotiate partner, reseller, distribution, SaaS, license, master, professional services, and privacy agreements Drive strategic initiatives within the legal team, implementing processes to shorten contracting cycles while maintaining risk controls Provide practical risk-balanced legal guidance to cross-functional teams Stay current with regulatory developments, laws, and industry standards Tasks Minimum of 10 years in commercial contracting, preferably in-house Experience with technology contracts: reseller, partnerships, distribution, OEM, SaaS, software licenses, master services, data processing agreements Knowledge of antitrust, anti-corruption, and data privacy laws Experience working with diverse business cultures, especially Middle East and Africa Proven track record of prudent judgment and handling meaningful responsibilities Active membership in good standing with at least one country/state bar/law society Ability to work autonomously and lead high-value projects; strong communication with non-legal stakeholders and external partners Key requirements
