Full Job Description

  • Build and maintain low-latency Java components within Orion, following its established platform patterns
  • Own delivery end-to-end: implementation, testing, migration cutover support, and production support
  • Investigate production issues and drive root-cause analysis, translating findings into durable fixes
  • Uphold high standards of execution quality - strong test coverage and performance discipline, especially given increased load from convergence
  • Support incident management, post-incident remediation, and UAT for products migrating onto Orion

    We're looking for ambitious, talented, technical Java engineers to help build out Orion, with the US Clearing convergence as a defining near-term priority. This is a hands-on delivery role, and we're looking for engineers who bring genuine quality and excellence to their work: meticulous attention to detail, a motivated and self-driven approach, and a progressive mindset that continually raises the bar rather than settling for "good enough.", Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional Back End development in Java, with strong command of core language features, concurrency, and JVM performance
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts - messaging, event ordering, consistency, fault tolerance
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills in high-volume production environments
  • Experience with relational or object-oriented data stores (eg, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Clear, confident communication with business and operations stakeholders
  • High ownership - able to work independently and deliver in a fast-paced environment, especially during active migration
  • Genuine focus on execution quality: well-tested, maintainable, performant code
  • Experience with sequencer-based, event-sourced architectures.
  • Banking or Capital Market experience in a must.
    • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of Realtime, high volume platforms in an Equities environment.
  • Exposure to securities clearing, settlement, custody, or regulatory reporting
  • Experience with large-scale platform migrations or system consolidations
  • Familiarity with high-performance messaging/middleware (eg, Kafka, Chronicle Queue, Aeron, Solace)
  • UNIX/Linux experience and JVM performance tuning
