Senior IT Procurement Manager - Contract - Insurance

We are seeking a senior IT Procurement/Category professional to take hands-on ownership of a complex technology spend portfolio within a London Markets insurance business. The role is focused on stabilising and strengthening IT procurement, managing major technology suppliers, and building a forward-looking renewals and sourcing pipeline to influence the IT cost base. A key component of the role is commercial management of a large Systems Integrator operating across T&M and fixed-price models.,

• Own and deliver IT category strategy across software, cyber, hardware, and IT services.
• Manage IT renewals and sourcing pipeline to avoid reactive purchasing and control future spend.
• Act as a trusted commercial partner to IT and Operations, embedding procurement earlier into planning.
• Commercially manage strategic suppliers, including a major SI.
• Lead negotiations, contracting, and supplier performance to deliver cost savings and value improvement.
• Ensure procurement activity aligns with governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  
  This is a senior individual contributor role, requiring strong stakeholder presence and commercial judgement rather than people management., 3+ years in insurance (London/Lloyd's market preferred)
• Strong background in IT or technology-enabled procurement/category management.
• Proven experience managing large IT suppliers or SIs in complex environments.
• Deep experience with software, IT services, commercial contracts, and renewals.
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders and operating hands-on without direct reports.
• Experience in regulated sectors strongly preferred.
