Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Radiology)

We are looking for a permanent enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiology Health Care Assistant to join the team within the Radiology Department at Wigan Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

The role is for 37.5 hours per week (part time hours may be considered).Candidates should have a flexible approach to their working hours as this contract will be flexible across 7 day working and includes multiple sites.

The role will require you to work across all areas in the Trust .

Candidates are required to present original certificates for qualifications at interview stage and during compliance checks. You must have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or have completed the NHS accredited Care Certificate to work in this role., The role of a Radiology Health Care Assistant is to provide general support for Diagnostic Procedures within the Diagnostic Imaging Department within a variety of modalities such as Ultrasound, DEXA, Fluoroscopy and general radiography. In all these areas you will provide a level of care, assistance and support to patients during their Radiological Examination and perform your duties in such a manner as to aid the smooth running of the department and provide a high level of care.

During these duties you will be familiar with Department AdministrationServices across all sites and be competent to use CRIS and PACS. You will also provide clinical assistance to the Diagnostic Services providedwithin the Radiology Department.

Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role unless you have a minimum of two years' NHS experience in the same role, as it does not meet the salary threshold for entry level applicants., The successful candidates will be required to communicate on a regular basis with all grades of hospital staff throughout the Trust and should therefore have good interpersonal and communication skills.

Applicants should also have good keyboard skills and preferably experience in using basic computer packages, including hospital systems.
