Full Job Description
As a Senior Healthcare assistant in Liver theatres,
- You will be expected to circulate for major and minor surgical procedures, ranging from elective hepatobiliary cases to liver transplants and emergencies, for both paediatrics and adults.
- You will be assisting x2 qualified nurses and ODP in theatre.
- You will help colleagues prepare for the theatre cases, opening of sets and consumables.
- You will complete competencies so that you can carry out the counts for instruments, sharps and swabs.
- You will help prepare and position the patients for their surgical procedures. You will ensure the operating theatre and department is clean and tidy and free from clutter.
- You will be liaising with estates to ensure that the departmental maintenance requests are carried out and followed up. You will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team helping to care for our patients to the highest standards.

Our Practice Development Team provides structured teaching support to all staff, and our development programs are well established. King's (Denmark Hill site) Liver Theatres consists of 3 operating theatres which include surgeries such as but not limited to, whipples, laparoscopic and open liver resections, pancreatectomy's, splenectomy's, cholecystectomy's, liver transplants and emergency's catering for patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly.
