RPS is currently seeking a Senior Fire, Health & Safety Consultant to join our dynamic Fire, Health & Safety team within the Health, Safety and Risk Division. The role will be based in London and the South and will require regional and occasional UK wide travel.

About The Fire, Health & Safety Team:

The RPS Risk team has been a leading provider of safety and risk consultancy services to clients in the UK for over 30 years. We provide our core safety and environmental assessment services, including management support and independent audit to organisations across a wide range of sectors.

What you'll be doing

This is an exciting role for an individual looking for to progress their career as a Senior Fire, Health & Safety. You will undertake high-level fire risk assessments and a wide range of differing health and safety risk assessments. This includes working with our clients in fields such as residential, commercial, industrial, retail and transport and defence.

Duties Include:
Conduct Fire, Health, and Safety Risk Assessments in compliance with legislation.
Provide robust fire, health and safety advice to clients with high level advocacy whilst delivering of the 'RPS Way'.
Develop emergency and evacuation plans tailored to specific tenants.
Manage and lead client-specific projects and fulfil competent person roles.
Author Fire Management Plans and understand Fire Strategies for various buildings.
Provide management advice and conduct gap analysis reports.
Mentor junior consultants and participate in team meetings.
Support the Technical Director on departmental projects.
Stay updated on legislation and advise clients on compliance.
Identify solutions to fire and health-related issues and ensure client support.
Maintain professional development and pursue relevant qualifications.

Strong technical knowledge of fire, health, and safety legislation across various sectors, and proficient in practical application.
Member of the IFSM or IFE.
Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
Registered on a recognised Fire Consultants' Register.
Diploma level qualification in health and safety.
CMIOSH or equivalent (or working towards).
Familiar with the BAFE SP205 Validation process.
Demonstrable CPD record.
Thorough understanding of British Standards relating to fire in the residential sector.
Building regulations Approved Document B, British Standards, relevant fire, health and safety legislation, ACOPS, Approved Documents M and K.
Awareness of CDM 2015 Regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
