Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

Reporting to the Principal Building Services Engineer, this role involves supporting and leading the development of technical documentation and concept designs for projects across UK land, sea and air operations, training, production and maintenance facilities. Working within a high-performing team, the role provides engineering support throughout the construction and facilities management project lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing external design consultants and specialists, inspecting construction works, surveying existing infrastructure, producing technical reports and papers, and presenting findings to key stakeholders. Core duties:

• Able to provide technical input to multidisciplinary project teams and manage own workload with minimal supervision to meet project deadlines,
• Provide electrical support to projects from concept to completion through RIBA Stages 1 to 7 in-line with relevant guidance such as British Standards, CIBSE Guides etc. including reports, technical specifications, technical drawings etc.
• Participate in design reviews as required and attend engineering and project meetings: manage actions arising as required,
• Undertake engineering feasibility assessments, preliminary designs and reports within own sphere of responsibility to professional standards of quality to meet target dates for delivery,
• Contribute to the Engineering Lifecycle (ELC) process, Risk Management, Safety, Health & the Environment (SHE), Product Safety and wider project issues as directed,
• Undertake condition/feasibility surveys across a range of buildings/sites and write technical reports,
• Provide electrical engineering governance on design proposals (Internal & External), electrical installation during construction and in service electrical installations.
  
  Experience in the design and construction of construction projects (Electrical discipline), incorporating relevant Codes of Practice, British Standards, CIBSE Guides relating to design, installation, testing and maintenance,
• Degree or HND qualified in a relevant discipline,
• Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards),
• Competent in the use of AutoCAD or Revit

Salary: Circa £58,000 depending on skills and experience
