Full Job Description
- Hold the primary strategic technology relationships across our B2C businesses as a trusted advisor.
- Shape and maintain cross-portfolio technology roadmaps and set architectural direction.
- Identify future capability needs and establish a clear architectural vision for the domain.
- Translate architectural vision into executable direction across change initiatives.
- Partner closely with Product and Platform engineering leaders to influence priorities and align technology decisions to business outcomes.
- Own and evolve reference architectures and target states.
- Provide guidance and trade-off analysis to inform delivery.
- Lead option evaluations and design assessments, articulating trade-offs across cost, complexity, customer impact, delivery risk, strategic alignment, and long-term maintainability.
- Drive governance and manage architectural risk.
- Ensure alignment with security, regulatory, and strategic platform standards.
- Champion innovation by leveraging automation and AI-enabled tooling to enhance architectural quality and accelerate design cycles.
- Mentor Solution Architects and engineers to uplift capability, strengthen architectural maturity, and ensure consistent application of standards across teams.
- Provide day-to-day coaching to Architects and wider technologists.
- Support the build capability within squads and platforms by sharing insights, reusable patterns, and domain knowledge., We are offering a full-time, permanent Senior Domain Architect role within our Business to Customer organisation. This is a UK-based hybrid position with occasional travel to site. The role sits at the heart of our B2C technology leadership, supporting the Retail pillar and Centrica Home by shaping strategic architecture, maintaining coherence across the technology estate, and helping deliver business priorities through clear, forward-looking technology direction. We value innovation, collaboration, and the responsible use of AI-enabled tools to improve architectural quality and team capability.
Experience delivering solution and domain architectures across multiple projects or platforms, ideally in a consumer business. - Strong understanding of business processes and how they align with technology solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to plan and implement mid- to long-term technology roadmaps.
- Experience with architectural governance and compliance in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated safe and responsible use of AI tools, with clear knowledge of when AI use is appropriate and strong awareness of accuracy, bias, and compliance.
- Ability to design and reuse prompt templates to support consistent, high-quality workflow outputs.
- Skilled in using AI to triage, classify, and analyse information within policy guardrails.
- Strong ability to recognise higher-risk scenarios and escalate to governance or security as needed.
- Proficiency in enterprise AI copilots, knowledge assistants, and AI-enhanced productivity tools.
