Full Job Description

  • To participate in the provision of specialised imaging within the Radiology Department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
  • To prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for investigations and therapy.
  • To work within the Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT teams undertaking high quality nuclear medicine imaging utilising both the PET-CT scanner and Gamma Camera with SPECT-CT.
  • To ensure that all radioactive material is handled safely and in compliance with all local rules and appropriate legislation.

    The Nuclear Medicine department at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral is busy and dynamic, and houses a Siemens Symbia Intevo Gamma Camera with SPECT-CT, carrying out a wide variety of examinations. We also provide a busy Radium therapy service. Our PET-CT scanner is currently being replaced. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool site houses a digital Siemens Biograph Vision and also provides Radium therapy service. We work collaboratively with Alliance Medical in providing the PET-CT service as part of the NHSE National Contract. We also carry out non-contract work such as scanning to aid with radiotherapy planning and clinical trials., The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading cancer centres providing highly specialist cancer care to a population of 2.4m people across Cheshire and Merseyside, and the surrounding areas, including North Wales and the Isle of Man.
