Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Needed

• Demonstrable experience of developing and supporting AWS cloud-based applications.


• Demonstrable knowledge of writing and maintaining Infrastructure, and Configuration as Code.


• Experience of using Unix/Linux in a support and/or development environment including scripting languages.


• Experience working in a DevOps environment — Continuous Integration & Deployment, Delivery methods, and techniques, including agile scrum experience.


• Knowledge of implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.


• Supporting, guiding, and developing Engineers across multi-disciplinary teams in an agile environment.

Your Role

In this role, you and your teams will help shape and support modern cloud platforms by designing, building, and improving secure, scalable, and resilient AWS solutions. Working closely with engineering teams, you'll drive automation, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and use Infrastructure as Code to enable the delivery of reliable digital services.

You'll tackle complex technical challenges, champion engineering best practices, and support a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. You will mentor other engineers and help evolve our DevOps capabilities.

• Location: Choose from Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient.


• Hybrid Working: Some time at home, some face-to-face in a hub.


• Pay: Up to £80,664.


• Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, over £16,000 per year.


• Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days on flexi-time and all public holidays.
