Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work with modern cloud technologies and large, complex datasets to develop robust data platforms, pipelines, and analytical solutions. You'll collaborate with a wide range of technical and business stakeholders, helping to ensure that trusted, high-quality data is available to support patient and donor services, research, and continuous improvement throughout NHSBT., A Senior Data Engineer works with data created and stored across NHSBT within the Data Engineering Team, as part of the Data Product Centre. They play a pivotal role in ensuring that data flows smoothly, remains consistent, and is available for decision-making, insights and analytics through the available platforms. This involves development and expansion of the platform of choice and ensuring operational efficiency, routine maintenance, issues and incident resolution, performance monitoring and reporting. The Senior Data Engineers are subject matter experts in data engineering, helping to collate, curate and support analytical use of the extensive data generated from the various products and services across the organisation to support;-

• Patient and Donor Care: Enabling access to relevant patient/donor information for healthcare professionals.
• Service Management: Improving services and supporting decision-making for a broad spectrum of services including logistics, manufacturing and genomics.
• Data Analysis: Identifying trends, predicting outcomes, and understanding the quality of care being delivered. Research and Development
