Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Data Engineer who wants to use your technical expertise to build data solutions that make a real difference?,

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of our cloud data platform, ensuring it is reliable, secure and able to grow with the organisation.
  • Design, build and optimise data pipelines, SQL data models and transformations that provide teams with high-quality, accessible data.
  • Build and maintain integrations between CRM, fundraising, finance and other systems, ensuring data moves reliably and securely.
  • Shape the technical roadmap for our data platform, balancing organisational needs with performance, resilience and cost.
  • Set and maintain strong standards for data quality, security, governance and engineering best practice.
  • Work with teams across the charity to understand their needs and turn them into practical, sustainable data solutions.
  • Lead and develop a Data Engineer, sharing knowledge and creating clear, effective ways of working., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter.     Strong experience designing, building and maintaining modern cloud-based data platforms and data pipelines.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including experience with data modelling and transformation.
  • Experience developing and optimising a SQL-based data warehouse. Experience with Snowflake would be particularly valuable.
  • Experience integrating data between different systems using APIs, connectors or other integration approaches.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, security, governance and the handling of sensitive data.
  • Experience improving the performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness of cloud data platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on automation, optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and supporting or managing other data professionals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to make technical concepts understandable to non-technical colleagues.

    This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with real ownership-helping us build a modern, trusted data platform that enables teams across GOSH Charity to make better use of data and ultimately deliver greater impact for seriously ill children and their families.

    The salary for this role is £62,000 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
