The RoleAs an Senior Data Consultant you will be responsible to work directly with CXO-level leaders to define and drive the organisation's enterprise data strategy. This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and governance, shaping how data is used to create value, improve decision-making, and prepare the organisation for AI at scale. The consultant will design the operating model between business units and the Chief Data Office (CDO), ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and execution. They will also evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies that enable a modern, AI-ready data ecosystem., Enterprise Data Strategy & Vision.Partner with CXOs to define a clear, actionable enterprise data strategy aligned to business priorities and growth ambitions.Translate strategic objectives into data capabilities, investment priorities, and multi-year roadmaps.Identify high-value data domains, use cases, and opportunities for monetisation or operational optimisation.Establish KPIs and value-tracking mechanisms to measure the impact of data initiatives.
Operating Model Between Business & CDO.Design and implement a scalable data operating model that clarifies roles across business units, IT, and the CDO.Define data ownership, stewardship, governance processes, and decision-making forums.Create frameworks for demand management, prioritisation, and cross-functional alignment.Support the CDO in embedding data literacy and accountability across the organisation.
AI-Readiness & Technology EnablementAssess the organisation's current data maturity and readiness for AI adoption.Recommend tools, platforms, and architectures that support an AI-ready environment, including:Modern data platforms (e.g., cloud data warehouses/lakehouses)Data governance and cataloguing toolsMDM, metadata management, and data quality solutionsML/AI platforms, feature stores, and model lifecycle toolsIntegration, API, and real-time data streaming technologiesAdvise on build-vs-buy decisions and vendor selection.Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership.Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, influencing decisions with data-driven insights.Communicate complex data concepts in clear business language.Lead workshops, strategy sessions, and capability-building programmes.Drive cultural change to embed data-driven decision-making across the enterprise., Your ProfileEssential skills/knowledge/experience: Proven experience consulting with or advising CXO-level stakeholders.Strong background in enterprise data strategy, governance, and operating model design.Deep understanding of modern data architectures and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).Knowledge of AI/ML lifecycle, data engineering, and analytics capabilities.Ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.Experience working within or alongside a Chief Data Office.Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, data ethics, responsible AI).Certifications in cloud, data governance, or AI technologies.Experience in large-scale transformation programmes.
