Full Job Description
- Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload
- Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice
- Responsible for MRI Safety in line with local rules
- To work within IRMER and own scope of practice in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC
- Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme
- Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
- Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health Policy
- Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedures
- Comply with all Nuffield Health polices and procedures
- Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements
As a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer at our Derby Hospital, you'll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally, you'll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification, as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately., Have a postgraduate qualification and/ or high levels of technical knowledge and experience (desirable)- Have experience in a wide variety of MRI and CT scans, including Cardiac MRI and/or Cardiac CT (desirable)
- Have experience with GE MRI and GE CT scanners (desirable)
- Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.
- Be respectful towards all individuals , including staff patients and visitors.
- Supervise and develop junior colleagues
- Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work
- Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential
