  • Research Opportunities: Engage in cutting-edge research and quality improvement projects, with opportunities to present your work at national and international conferences. Recent NIHR-supported research includes novel work on beta-blockade in traumatic brain injury
  • Generous Educational Budget: Up to £5000 annual educational budget is provided to support activities such as a PG Cert
  • Simulation-Based Training: Participate in regular simulation training sessions to enhance your decision-making, procedural skills, and multidisciplinary team communication.

    Applicants must have full registration with the GMC. This fellowship is ideal for candidates who are within the final year of training or who are post-CCT. We would consider candidates Applicants should possess a strong foundation in critical care medicine, including FFICM qualification or equivalent and a keen interest in the care of patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical disorders.

Southmead Hospital has a 24 hour a day 7 day a week acute stroke thrombectomy service and is one of the busiest centres in Europe. It delivers some of the highest neurotrauma survival rates in the UK, North Bristol NHS Trust employs over 12,000 staff providing healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset from our award-winning hospital building at Southmead. We are the regional Major Trauma Centre, and an internationally recognised centre of excellence in a range of services and major specialities.
