Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant - Project Lead, to join our Cost Accounting Team on a fixed term contract basis. The successful candidate will lead a transition project, ensuring accurate cost capture and collaboration with various teams and stakeholders. The role is based from our Alderley Edge office location and offers a hybrid working model, 50% based from site, 50% from home.,
- Lead and coordinate the transition project, ensuring clear communication and teamwork
- Identify and manage project risks and issues
- Oversee cost accounting and reporting for specific business units and projects, providing stakeholders with detailed cost analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting for the UK trading business
- Adhere to accounting standards and review Balance Sheet controls
- Assist in creating strategic improvements and efficiency plans
- Develop and deliver standalone initiatives as requested
- Work with key Finance and business areas to ensure effective reporting, analysis, processes, and systems
- Document all processes and ensure they meet required standards, updating them as needed
Qualified accountant with experience in business control or management accounting - Project management experience
- Over 5 years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record
- Strong knowledge of UK life and pension industry accounting, actuarial aspects, and regulations
- Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards, finance methodologies, and regulatory requirements
- Good understanding of financial drivers and methodologies for UK life and pensions organizations
- Focused on business drivers and outcomes
- Experienced in managing a finance team
- Able to communicate complex financial matters clearly
- Proficient in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills
