Senior Communications and Engagement Officer

In this case, all NHS employees must have their line manager's approval before making an application., The Senior Communications and Engagement Officer will play a key role in managing the good reputation of Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and delivering high-quality communications and engagement for a range of audiences, ensuring that key internal and external audiences understand HEIW's aim and vision. In particular, the post-holder will:

• Develop, implement and evaluate communication, engagement and marketing projects for a wide range of audiences including partners, staff and the general public.
Manage proactive and reactive media relations on a day-to-day basis. This will include managing reactive media enquiries, briefing journalists, managing events, press conferences, photo calls and visits, supervising filming and preparing reactive statements and Q&A documents. Support HEIW's social media strategy and work with the communications and engagement team, and colleagues across the organisation, to plan regular, engaging content that meets the needs of our target audiences and supports organisational objectives. Commission and or produce photographs for all communication channels including our intranet, website, social media, and newsletters.

We are looking for a creative Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to play a central role in managing and developing communications to support the implementation of the Strategic Mental Heath Workforce Plan for Health and Social Care. This is an exciting role leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of communications activity including websites, intranet, social media, and corporate digital content. Applicants should have strong analytic and SEO skills, previous experience of using content management systems and design / editing tools including Canva, and the Adobe Suite. The role requires excellent content writing skills, digitalexpertise, creativity and the ability to balance planning, coordination,collaborationand hands on delivery in a high-profile public sector organisation. Secondment until 31 March 2027 in line with available funding
