We are currently recruiting to our Senior Fellow (Registrar level) posts here at the QMC Major Trauma Centre.
Applicants need to be motivated and with a keen interest in the management of Major Trauma patients. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary professional team across a number of different specialties.As a centre of excellence in the treatment of Major Trauma, the Queen's
Medical Centre is a single site multi-specialty hospital, optimised for the provision of trauma care. It is the primary receiving hospital of the East Midlands Trauma Network and manages all types of injuries, providing a 24 hour consultant led service.The Major Trauma Consultant and multi-professional team co-ordinate the pathway of care for people with severe trauma injuries. Rehabilitation is commenced as early in the pathway as possible to maximise functional outcomes for the patient., o To enhance your knowledge and understanding of:Immediate lifesaving interventions by attending and participating in trauma calls in resus.o Interpreting initial investigations quickly including blood gas, X ray and CT results in resus.o Liaising with other members of the trauma team, from all different specialties and documenting findings and plans in the Major Trauma admissions documentationo The main elements of a trauma call including how these should be coordinated and documented.o The management of multi system trauma
