Full Job Description
We are excited to be advertising a permanent, full-time Senior Clinical Psychology post in our child neurodevelopment service, for suitably skilled and experienced applicants. We also warmly welcome applications seeking to join at Band 7 and follow a supportive development plan towards the senior 8a position.
The post-holder will be a valued member of our diverse and vibrant MDT based in Caernarfon. We provide highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and advice for children and young people referred to our service, and their families.
You will be key in leading neurodevelopmental assessments for children across Gwynedd and Anglesey, working closely with our team - particularly where there are complex factors to consider in building clinical formulations and making complex diagnostic decisions. Your clinical leadership skills will be valued and nurtured.
We enjoy close working with our local child and adolescent learning disability and mental health services, and our multiagency partners. We have an excellent relationship with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can evidence their passion for this area of work and their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.
The successful candidate will have an individually tailored, supportive development plan to facilitate their progress towards achieving the required competencies to progress to an 8a role. Regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided by an experienced Clinical Psychologist.
They will lead neurodevelopmental and neuropsychological assessments according to need, and support the wider team in their work. They will promote psychological thinking and formulation within our multidisciplinary team. In line with the development of competencies, the successful candidate will offer consultation to multi-agency professionals and families, offer clinical supervision, provide placements for Trainee clinical psychologists, and apply clinical leadership skills through training and service development.
