Full Job Description

Are you an ambitious pharmacist seeking a rewarding role leading improvement in antimicrobial stewardship? We are looking for a dynamic clinical pharmacist to join our Medicines Management team, taking a Trust-wide lead in antimicrobial stewardship while delivering a specialist service to Intermediate Care Units. You will work in a forward-thinking environment using Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) systems (training provided), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Trust forums and the Infection Prevention & Control team to influence practice and improve patient outcomes. We welcome pharmacists from all healthcare settings with experience leading quality improvements, including clinical audit, patient group directions and clinical governance. The Trust supports ongoing professional development and offers flexible, agile working, with up to full-time hours and a requirement to travel across Sussex from a base at Brighton, Crawley or Horsham. The role is the lead within the Medicines Management Team, across the whole of Trust, for the areas of Antimicrobial Stewardship, injectables, patient group directions, occupational health and wound-care. You will proactively identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to policy and governance developments that enhance patient outcomes, working collaboratively across services and multidisciplinary teams across the Trust to achieve outcomes. You will deliver a specialist clinical pharmacy service to adult inpatient bedded units, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines use and support safe, effective care. Alongside this, you will support and develop pharmacy colleagues, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants, and provide senior support within the pharmacy dispensary when required. The role also includes active involvement in education, training and wider service development, contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the Medicines Management team.
