Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Colposcopy)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and accredited Lead Nurse Colposcopist to join our Colposcopy Service at Whipps Cross Hospital on a part-time basis (0.4 WTE).

This senior clinical leadership role combines expert autonomous colposcopy practice with service leadership, quality improvement and workforce development. The successful candidate will share the leadership and delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care for women referred through the NHS Cervical Screening Programme and suspected cancer pathways, ensuring the service meets national standards and performance targets.

Working closely with the Clinical Leads, Matrons, Associate Director of Nursing, Service Manager and multidisciplinary team, the post holder will support service delivery, patient access, workforce development and continuous improvement. They will provide expert clinical advice, supervision and training to colleagues while maintaining a significant clinical presence within the service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and shaping the future of colposcopy services for local women, The post holder will take full responsibility for the effective running of thecolposcopy service and delivery of integrated care to women.o The post holder will have an in-depth knowledge of the NHS cervical screeningprogramme, gynecology and health promotion. They will be responsible for theco-ordination of all activities within the Colposcopy service workingcollaboratively with and alongside the colposcopy team.o The post holder will work in partnership with the Colposcopy lead consultantand the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology to deliver the clinicalobjectives of the Colposcopy and Gynaecology service.o The post holder will be accredited experienced nurse colposcopist and act asan autonomous practitioner in undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic clinicsessions, taking responsibility and accountability for appropriate clinicalmanagement and care programmes. The post holder is to work closely withthe Matron for Gynaecology and share responsibility for the standards
andevaluation of training and supervision of nursing staff within the service.o The post holder will participate in the collaborative management of theColposcopy service within the Gynaecology Service and is recognised as a keymember of the senior nursing management team.
