Full Job Description

The post will be based at the Guys Hospital site. The post holder will provide:

  • Outpatient direct clinical care to patients with sleep disorders
  • Expected to undertake regular sleep clinic sessions, to review patients after sleep diagnostic studies, and to support with on-going audit and research activities within the Sleep Disorders Centre
  • To participate in clinical and other service activities

    The post will suit candidates with a background in respiratory medicine, neurology, cardiology and psychiatry.

    The Sleep Disorders Centre is one of the largest centres of adult sleep medicine in Europe. With consultants in respiratory medicine, neurology, neurophysiology, psychiatry and neuropsychiatry, its caseload is extremely broad, covering all aspects of sleep medicine.
    • The service sees around 18,000 patients a year. This includes patients with sleep-disordered breathing, parasomnias, narcolepsy and other central hypersomnia's, sleep-related movement disorders, nocturnal epilepsy, and sleep disorders associated with neurological psychiatric conditions. In additional to the consultant staff, the service is supported by one clinical fellow and a highly experienced team of sleep technologists.
