Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ST6)

The senior clinical fellow will work on the general obstetrics and gynaecology rota. This involves working a 1 in 8 on call rota on the senior registrar rota (ST6) comprising of 1 in 8 weekday nights (Monday to Thursday 2000-0830) and 1 in 8 weekends of days (Saturday and Sunday 0800-2000) and nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2000-0830). They will also work 4 long days on Delivery Suite (08.00-20.30) per 8 week cycle., The day time duties will be on the senior registrar rota and will be tailored to the interests of the successful applicant. These will include antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology ward rounds, gynaecology and antenatal clinics, gynaecology theatres and elective caesarean section lists. It would be expected that the fellow would be given time for special interest sessions in their chosen field and would be encouraged to register for the relevant SITM. The daytime gynaecology cover is provided by acute gynaecology fellows who run the acute gynaecology unit between 0830 and 2100 daily. St George's maternity unit has a strong track record of training in intrapartum fetal monitoring using a fetal physiology and the senior clinical fellow would be expected to attend weekly training sessions., At gesh we are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements.
